Twitter reacts to National Donut Day
Today was National Donut Day and Twitter exploded with reactions from the public.
Though many food holidays were created by brands for profit, National Donut Day has humble beginnings.
In 1938, women of the Salvation Army made donuts for soldiers who were away fighting the war to help them reconnect with home and boost morale.
Today, the holiday is mostly celebrated with free donuts from major brands like Krispy Kreme and Dunkin Donuts.
