Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s reveal burger topped with a hot dog and potato chips

Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s have unveiled the ‘Most American Thickburger,’ a burger that combines three US picnic staples: a hamburger, a hot dog, and potato chips.

The TV campaign for the burger, created by 72andSunny, will star Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model Samantha Hoopes and professional bull rider Douglas Duncan.

Premiering 1 June, a commercial called ‘The Most American Thing Ever’ will feature Hoopes enjoying the burger in a stars-and-stripes bikini, in the back of a pick-up truck, and in front of the Statue of Liberty.

Brad Haley, chief marketing officer of Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s, said: “We’ve introduced several popular ‘meat on meat’ burgers over the years that combine the tastes of great American sandwiches with the taste of a great American burger but the combination of a split hot dog, potato chips and a charbroiled 100 percent Black Angus beef patty is, unquestionably, our most American creation yet.”

Starting on 20 May, the burger will be available at both Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s locations.
