Dean Foods Co., the largest processor and distributor of milk in the US, is uniting its many regional milk brands under one umbrella entitled ‘DairyPure’ as it aims to increase sales in the struggling US milk market.

The company will keep its regional brands but will place the ‘DairyPure’ name alongside each label on jugs and cartons using the same print size, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Executives told the Journal that they chose the moniker ‘DairyPure’ partly because it reflects a “simple, back-to-basics approach” to food production as consumers become increasingly concerned with where and how their food is made

Ralph Scozzafava, EVP-chief commercial officer at Dean Foods, said: "With DairyPure, we will continue to deliver the fresh, high-quality milk our consumers have always enjoyed from their trusted, local dairies."

It will be available in grocery stores across the nation in whole, 2 per cent reduced fat, 1 per cent low fat, skim, and fat-free varieties.
