WPP posts 8.3% Q1 reported revenue at £2.8bn

WPP has revealed that reported revenue during the first quarter of 2015 grew by 8.3 per cent to £2.783bn with net new business worth almost £1bn.

Just over 2 per cent (2.2) came from acquisitions with seven deals completed during the three month period and 0.9 per cent from currency as a result of the weakness of sterling against the US dollar.

North American reported revenue increased by 13.2 per cent to £1,036m while UK reported revenue growth was 16.7 per cent to £417m, west continental Europe decreased by 7.6 per cent to £547and AP, LA, AME, CEE made up £692m, an increase of 8.3 per cent.

Net sales were £2,419m for the period, a growth of 6 per cent.

Earlier this week rivals Publicis and Omnicom also released their first quarter results.
