Stella Artois and charity Water.org have come together in support of World Water Day on Sunday (22 March) for a limited edition TV spot to raise awareness of issues surrounding clean water access.

The Buy a Lady a Drink campaign will air exclusively on Channel 4 during Indian Summers. The simplistic ad focuses on water being poured into a limited edition Chalice, followed by a shot of a woman walking to gather water for her family.

The advert aims to demonstrate how the purchase of a Stella Artois chalice can help put a stop to water-collecting journeys, enabling women and communities to start new journeys of their own.

Each chalice will help Water.org provide five years of clean water to one person in the developing world. Stella Artois has so far donated $1.2m to Water.org and is inviting UK consumers to join the cause in time for World Water Day by purchasing a limited-edition Chalices with designs by artists from Ethiopia, Honduras and India.

Phil Pick, marketing manager for Stella Artois UK commented: “World Water Day is a day to highlight the importance of water and a chance to support initiatives that help the millions of people in the world without easy and safe access to it.”

“We’re proud to be partnering with Water.org on this important issue. As a key ingredient in our beer, water is a natural resource Stella Artois aims to protect and preserve. We are delighted to enlist millions of Stella Artois fans in the UK, and around the world in this effort.”

In partnership with Water.org and its co-founders actor Matt Damon and Gary White, Buy a Lady a Drink was launched at the Sundance Film Festival in January.
