The Rugby Football League has brought in PR agency Manc Frank as it embarks on a "new era" for the sport.

Rugby league celebrates its 120th anniversary this year but the 2015 season will see some major changes including the reintroduction of promotion and relegation to make its competitions more exciting.

Manc Frank, the northern arm of Frank PR, has been enlisted to "amplify" the sport's profile, support individual players and clubs and promote special events including the Super League Magic Weekend in Newcastle and the World Club Series.

Graeme Anthony, Manc Frank general manager, said: "Rugby League is without doubt one of the world's most exciting sports, brimming with energy and adrenaline, both on and off the pitch. Its raw power is infectious and as such its appeal is spreading rapidly across the globe – which is something we aim to replicate through our tactics and execution."
