Facebook is coming to UK screens for the first time with an ad campaign to trumpet the friendships that sit at the centre of the social network.

Three ads will depict key aspects of the service, including the act of meeting someone for the first time in “Friend Request”, groups of people having fun in “Our Friends” and the similarly themed “Girl Friends”.

It forms part of a wider nationwide push that includes outdoor ads carrying over the same creative.

Facebook has previously launched TV ads in the US, in 2012 and 2014.
