Zoella tops Channel Mum's Top 15 YouTube vlog chart for January
Channel Mum, Channelmum’s YouTube network, has launched its monthly round-up of the most popular vlogs for mothers in the UK.
The top 15 channels collectively clocked nearly eleven million views in January, with the most viewed video featuring YouTuber Zoella and London-based Irish family, the Saccone-Jolys, receiving over 350,000 views.
Nonetheless, the index ranked YouTube channel 'Sprinkle of Chatter' in first place for the content creator's greater engagement with viewers.
Channel Mum’s Clementine Hancox said: “Whilst daily vlogs about family life continue to have huge appeal for mums, this month we’re seeing that more niche or specialist content for parents is starting to find its place on YouTube. The UK family content category is clearly maturing, and it’s doing so relatively quickly.
“This represents a big opportunity both for new talent on YouTube, who can really shape their content offering around their own personal story or skills; and also for brands, which can tap into the interests of the many different types of mums and their audiences.”
The index is created using a proprietary algorithm created by Channel Mum which rates both the reach of the content and its engagement.
