Australian rail operator Metro Trains has launched a seasonal safety campaign highlighting ‘Dumb Ways To Die’ on its network through a remixed version of the Christmas jingle ‘Deck the Halls’.

Proceeds from the sale of the iTunes track will be directed toward the Salvation Army Christmas appeal, with members of its own choir assisting Tangerine Kitty in the production

Devised by McCann Melbourne the campaign dovetails with a karaoke YouTube rendition of the piece, which is currently being aired on local radio and on a billboard campaign at city stations.

It is the latest offering from the transportation authorities ‘Dumb Ways To Die’ initiative which cites examples of unmerited early deaths including overloading faulty sockets and pulling Christmas crackers with a little too much gusto.
