Blue Marine Foundation and Kritical Mass have revealed the winner of its competition to warn against what 'a world without fish’ would be like.

The winner of the ‘creativity for good’ campaign to design a poster for the charity, who aims to reverse the alarming collapse of fish stocks in our oceans, was chosen by John Hegarty, founder of BBH and a KriticalMass board member.

Describing what he was looking for in a poster, Hegarty said: “You’ve got to have something that is very striking, a striking image, and remember that you’re probably dealing with about five words at most.

“The other thing is, you want the idea, when you’ve seen it, to linger in your mind. You’re trying to penetrate somebody’s psyche.”

The winner, as chosen by Hegarty, was a take on Jaws by David Felton.

“I think it’s a very smart and clever way of capturing what we’re talking about.

A second brief, which starts on Friday 31 October, invites designers to promote awareness and drive support for KriticalMass’s Alem Foundation project which is seeking to get Paralympic athlete Alem Mumuni to the Rio 2016 Games.
