Apple chief executive, Tim Cook, has continued a week of revelations from the company with claim that the firm is working on products that "haven't been rumoured about yet" – just before he teased a new "21st century” TV service.

Tim Cook hints at TV future

Despite the Californian electronics giant unveiling the new iPhone 6 and Apple Watch earlier this week, Cook said that there are more unannounced products in the pipeline.

Speaking on the US Charlie Rose Show, Steve Job’s successor discussed Apple’s future, after the most recently announced products were beset by a series of leaks in the run up to the iPhone 6 launch event on 9 September.

Cook said: “There are products we're working on that no one knows about. That haven't been rumoured about yet.

“The hardest decisions we make are the things not to work on. There are lot of things we would like to work on that we are interested in but we know we can't do everything great.”

Cook put forward his own vision to build upon Job’s legacy, stating that Apple was going to drag TV into the modern age.

Cook added: “If we're really honest [television] is stuck in the 70s. When you go into your living room to watch TV, it's almost like you're rewinding the clock and you're going backwards.

“The interface is terrible, I mean it's awful. You watch things when they come on unless you remember to record them.”

The iPhone 6 will be launched internationally next week – except in China – where Apple has delayed the release under mysterious circumstances.
