DigitasLBi has wooed Critical Mass’ former SVP, executive technology director Scott Ross from Toronto to become chief technology officer, UK.

Ross will oversee the agency’s 100-strong technology team in the UK as he drives DigitasLBi’s technology strategy and helps clients including Honda, Sony Mobile and Virgin Atlantic adapt for the digital age.

He also joins the UK executive board under the leadership of chief executive Anil Pillai.

Pillai explained that Ross was “the perfect person” to help clients capitalise on options such as wearables, nearables or the internet of things

Ross added: “I feel privileged to be joining an agency that truly has technology at its core. As Arthur C Clarke said ‘any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic’, and when combined with DigitasLBi’s world-leading strategy, creativity and media capabilities it has the power to transform the way businesses interact with their customers.”

Ross replaces Lorenzo Wood, who takes on the newly created role of global chief innovation officer.
