Birmingham City FC unveils Blues Network corporate app concept
Birmingham City FC has selected mobile and web specialists RE:SYSTEMS as its partner to create a mobile app for the club’s corporate and commercial client base, the Blues Network.
The concept was unveiled at the Soccerex Global Convention 2014 in Manchester yesterday. The app is currently in development for both iOS and Android smartphones and is scheduled for launch in October. It aims to enhance service during match days by facilitating networking among corporate clients and providing an efficient sales and communication facility.
Features will include news and information on the team and club including social feeds and match day details for corporates with direct messaging, feedback and teamsheets. Apps users can also network via LinkedIn with access to client profiles and receive notifications of exclusive user promotions and sponsorship opportunities.
Beacon technology is being incorporated into the app enabling push notifications for location-specific information, allowing app users, for example, to locate each other easily on match day.
Ian Dutton, Birmingham City's Head of Commercial, said: "Through our presence on LinkedIn and our quarterly networking breakfast meetings at St Andrew's Stadium, the Blues Network community has gone from strength-to-strength. The new app will help take the Blues Network to the next level."
In related news, RE:SYSTEMS also developed the official Soccerex mobile app, designed to be a companion for both delegates and exhibitors at the five-day global football conference, which concludes today.
