Sage, the business software platform, has embraced Google Business View by opening the doors to its Newcastle head office to a 360 degree virtual tour, the first FTSE100 company to do so.

A treasure hunt competition for eagle eyed viewers who spot eight hidden objects accompanies the launch, will go live on Friday (5 September). It has been designed to offer employees the opportunity to share their work environment with friends and family whilst bolstering its reputation for innovation.

The new tool will also form a significant component of Sage’s recruitment efforts with a link included in all Sage’s Newcastle job ads for budding applicants to peruse.

The project took local photographer Steve Newcombe several weeks to complete as over 5,000 images were stitched together to create the tour.

Brendan Flattery, CEO, Sage UK & Ireland, explained, “Sage is a British success story and one that the North East is right to be proud of. Since starting over 30 years ago, we’ve grown to support more than 800,000 businesses in the UK and millions globally, but not many people get the chance to set foot inside our doors. We’re embracing a pioneering way to change that and to champion the local area.”
