Social media site Twitter has released a tweet discussion mapsite called ‘Everyday Moments’ which records and presents time-stamped tweeter discourse throughout the week.

One national conflict the site shows is 'pub vs gym'

The conversation map will help advertisers and brands engage with consumers by informing them what is being spoken about at any given time.

The tool measures the use of keywords within tweets and builds a map of a region’s chatter which is available for users to view on the website.

'Everyday Moments', which is currently in beta, has 80 topics which users can search and compare, although Twitter has said this will grow.

The social network released the beta after yesterday admitting up to 23 million of its 270 accounts are bot-run.

A Twitter spokesperson said: “The tool brings to life ways in which people share updates and interact around ‘everyday moments’ over the course of a typical week on Twitter.

“You’ll be fascinated by the scale and predictability of conversation patterns across Britain. Be it how chatter about coffee as it lights up the map between 8-10 a.m. during the week, or how much we all seem to like talking about the weather, the patterns of discussion give a unique insight into the rhythm of everyday life in the UK.”

This comes after Twitter yesterday announced a ‘Promoted Video’ beta to help small brands share shortform ads.
