Nike renews Atlético de Madrid sponsorship

Sportswear brand Nike has renewed its sponsorship of Spanish football club Atlético de Madrid until at least 2026, extending a partnership which first began in 2001 to a full quarter century.

Nike brand president Trevor Edwards, said: “We are extremely proud to announce the continuation of the agreement with Atlético de Madrid, which first started in 2001. The philosophies of hard work and team spirit that have made the club Spanish League champions, are 100 percent in keeping with Nike's core values.”

Miguel Ángel Gil Marín, Club Atlético de Madrid CEO, added: “We face every season with increased anticipation, eagerness and ambition, and to be able to count on Nike, a selective, demanding collaborator that is the world leader in this sport, undoubtedly constitutes very important support for us. The continuity of this agreement signifies NIke's belief in us and in our project.”

The deal will see the current Spanish league champions Atlético don Nike branded kits for the foreseeable future.
