Internet betting company Betfair has launched a rebrand across all of its platforms ahead of tomorrow’s Colombia V Uruguay game in support of the ban imposed by FIFA on Luis Suarez after he bit Italian player Giorgio Chiellini.

From today until Monday (30 June) Betfair will change its name to Bitefair across all its logos, Twitter handle, onsite banners, CRM headings, while print advertising with the Sun will also be rebranded.

Playing on its current advertising campaign and social activity #thisisplay, which looks to drive awareness of the sport, the company will push content on the day of the match focused on Suarez and his Uruguayan team mates using the hashtag #thisisnotplay.

Betfair will also create several betting ‘specials’ including: ‘Will Suarez bite again in the next 12 months? Yes: 8/1 No: 1/16’ and ‘Will Suarez play in a competitive match for Liverpool again in 2014? Yes: 1/2 No: 2/1 with a max stake of £100’.

Earlier today 888 Poker announced that it has ended its corporate sponsorship of the Uruguayan player with immediate effect.
