Google has released a Hangouts plug-in for Microsoft Outlook which allows users to start, join or schedule a Hangout directly from Outlook Mail and Calendar.

Through an announcement on the Google Enterprise Google+ account, the internet giant said the extension would mean that Outlook users will no longer have to stop using Outlook to schedule a Hangout video call if they are using Chromebox for meetings.

The new plugin adds a video call name to the Microsoft Outlook event, and allows participants to join the video call by entering the video call name using the Chromebox remote control.
