Ogilvy & Mather New York has today promoted Lou Aversano to the role of CEO, having previously been chief operating officer for the New York office.

Effective immediately, Aversano will now hold responsibility for overseeing all of O&M New York’s business performance, creative strategy, operations, client relationships and talent management.

“Working across O&M New York and IBM has been a truly rewarding experience, said Aversano. “I’m looking forward to expanding my role in New York and partnering with all of our disciplines to further develop their businesses and deliver award-winning work to our clients that reaches the epitome of creativity and effectiveness.”

Following his promotion, Aversano will continue to report to John Seifert, North America chairman and CEO.

Seifert said: “No one is better suited for this unique leadership opportunity than Lou. He will put his heart and soul into making New York the best it can be. Both the agency and our clients will benefit from Lou’s dedicated leadership.”

Aversano joined Ogilvy & Mather in 1994 as an account supervisor.
