Iglü, the mouth ulcer treatment brand, turns a little penguin’s world upside down in a new national campaign created by Bray Leino and Aardman.

The 30, 20 second and 10-second TV spots are set to air across national TV networks and have used 2D animations from Aardman to tell the story of a penguin struggling to make it to his igloo, which remains stuck fast, as his world turns upside down.

“We went for a traditional 2D drawn animation to bring to life to our hapless penguin and then combined this with painted textured multilane backdrops, animated in the computer to create his strange rotating arctic world,” explained Steve Harding-Hill, director, Aardman Animations. “It was a real joy to be able to do something so sweet, characterful and surreal.”

Suzanne Mitchell, iglü brand manager added that the campaign aimed to convey “a simple message about the product in a memorable way.”

In addition to TV, the activity will be carried through consumer and trade press.
