Samsung has hired the head of mobile and entertainment partnerships at Cheil Worldwide, Kim de Ruiter to manage the music, video and games department within its Media Solution Center Europe.

The Drum has learned that de Ruiter, who has been at Samsung owned international agency Cheil for almost a year-and-a-half, will take up the new position at the end of the month.

Matt Pye, COO of Cheil UK, commented: “We’re very sad to be saying farewell to Kim. She has done an excellent job for us in developing our mobile offering during a huge period of growth for Cheil UK. The mobile channel will continue to be a key component to our offering and we’ll continue to invest in this area. We wish Kim every success. I suspect we won’t be strangers for long.”

She had previously been founder and partner of Noise Inc and head of mobile and business development at Mercury Records.
