Rabbit production company, with offices in Australia and the US, has appointed Alex Hay and director Abe Forsythe to its personnel.

Both join as joint executive producers.

"It was a difficult decision for both of us leave Jungleboys, but I have long admired the Rabbit brand and the amazing reputation it has in the US market,” said Hay.

“Being given the chance to establish and build Rabbit as a top production company in Australia was too good an opportunity to pass up. Having said that, Jungleboys will always have a special place in our hearts and I know they will continue their great momentum."

Forsythe said: "As a company, I really admire the way Rabbit is run and this move is the most significant step in my career thus far. To always achieve the best results, I consider my role as a director as one of collaboration. So the opportunity to continue my association with Alex, alongside people like Lucas, Owen and Dael was a no brainer. I've never felt more ready or excited to tackle new projects."

Rabbit launched in Australia last year.

"If either Alex or Abe joined the Rabbit family, I would have been excited but to have the two of them together is just amazing,” said Lucas Jenner, Rabbit executive producer.

“They are both fantastic at what they do and are great people, two essential characteristics that are part of the Rabbit DNA."

Hay formerly was head of broadcast at George Patterson Y&R Sydney.
