Ahead of its planned merger with Omnicom next year, Publicis Worldwide has created a new mega region – Publicis North America.

Combining Publicis USA and Publicis Canada, the newly streamlined operation has become the largest Publicis region outside of France and is being led by Susan Gianinno, who was today announced as chairman, and Andrew Bruce, the newly appointed CEO of Publicis North America.

"This is a wonderful and very prestigious appointment for Susan and for us. I am personally very proud of her and expect that she will bring even more to our people and clients during, and after, this experience. I am sure that under this new team leadership, Susan and Andrew, this new mega region will generate great work for our clients and formidable growth,” said Maurice Levy, CEO, Publicis Groupe.

The North American umbrella group will concentrate on its key global and regional clients.

More specifically, Gianinno – who has served as chairman and CEO of Publicis Worldwide in the USA in 2002 – will concentrate on priority global initiatives, working in partnership with Arthur Sadoun, recently named CEO for Publicis Worldwide.

Meanwhile Bruce, most recently president and CEO of Publicis Worldwide in Canada, has taken on executive responsibilities for Publicis Kaplan Thaler, Publicis’ largest North America operation. He is set to relocate to New York in January.
