As Cyber Monday, the busiest online shopping day of the year arrives, Royal Mail has pinpointed Britain's oldest town, Colchester, as the busiest place for e-consumerism.

Royal Mail has analysed over four million deliveries made in November across the UK, with Colchester beating Lincoln, Brighton, Norwich and Stockton-On-Searespectively to be named the top city or town for ecommerce.

To help our customers at this very important time of year, Royal Mail has invested in ten pop up parcel sort centres as part of our festive operation. The parcel sort centres will increase our scale and flexibility, and enable us to handle the increased volume as effectively as possible."

The full list of the top 10 towns and cities for online purchasing were; Colchester, Lincoln, Brighton, Norwich, Swansea, Stockton On Tees, Chelmsford, Wigan, Guildford and Bedford respectively.
