Figures released by Commercial Radio Australia from the GfK Marketscope report for the third quarter of 2013 have shown that digital radio listening has reached a high of nearly 13%, equating to more than 1.6 million people listening each week.

Digital radio listening is at an all time high

The figures also show that the number of digital radios sold continues to rise.

"These listening and sales figures for digital radios are very encouraging and we look forward to a successful digital radio Christmas promotion in the coming weeks,” said Joan Warner, Commercial Radio Australia chief executive officer.

The figures apply to the five Australian state capitals, and state that time spent listening per week to a digital radio is 12 hours, against five and a half hours for those listening online.
