Lexus pay Naomi Campbell $75,000 to appear at Melbourne Cup
Lexus has become the highest spending brand to pay for a sole celebrity appearance at this year’s Melbourne Cup.

The car brand paid $75,000 to former model Naomi Campbell to appear at the Flemington racecourse’s famous Birdcage enclosure. Last year, ingénue actress Mischa Barton was paid $40,000 dollars for a similar appearance.
Campbell reportedly arrived an hour late for her promenade.
The figure was negotiated by Campbell’s management company IMG, and included accommodation, security and luxury transfers to and from the track.
A national department store chain had also bid for Campbell’s appearance.
''We considered paying the $75,000, but Naomi wanted to wear her own dress. Pity, because she would have looked a lot better in our dress,'' a source from the bidder told The Age.
Tyson Beckford, Dita Von Teese and Whitney Port are all attending the event to promote either their own brands or as ambassadors.
