The Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL) has appointed The Big Partnership to handle PR activities.

Appointment: The Big Partnership will handle PR activities

The 12-month contract was awarded after a competitive pitching process and, according to the Herald, the agency is set to wind down its nine-year working relationship with Celtic Football Club.

The Big Partnership previously handled PR for the Scottish Premier League (SPL). The league merged with the Scottish Football League in the summer to create the SPFL.

SPFL chief executive Neil Doncaster said: “Big had an immediate grasp of the challenges and opportunities we face as a league and a clear vision of how we should tackle them.”

The SPFL is almost three months into its first football season but has so far failed to find an official sponsor for the league and League Cup.

However, the SPFL did sign a sponsorship deal with Irn-Bru earlier this month – the former sponsor of the SFL – worth a six-figure sum.
