DDB Stockholm has appointed Jerker Fagerström as creative director amid a restructuring process at the agency.

Appointment: Jerker Fagerström has been named creative director

DDB has also created a new production department, DDB Make, which will be headed up by Pelle Josephson, who moves from his current position of CEO at DDB Oslo, while Cecilia Falk – previously in charge of Absolut Vodka in the US – will take responsibility for all business directors, project managers and production managers at the firm.

Additionally, Jacob Sandström will head up the planning department, design, retail and tech.

Having previously worked as a planner for 10 years before turning to business management, the move marks a fresh direction for Fagerström.

“This is certainly not a job I’ve pictured myself doing,” he said. “But in conversation with David [Sandström, CEO] and the creative partners they all said that when I was at my best in previous roles I did what I’m now supposed to do full time – to get the best work out there.”

CEO David Sandström said: “We want to take the next step in our creative development and it requires that all parts of the agency work together.

“The market demands have changed, which means we have to change, and that in turn means that the way we’ve worked on our product must change.”

In other changes, Simon Higby has returned to the agency after a spell at DDB Copenhagen as creative director, and creatives Fredrik Simonsson and Magnus Jakobsson have gone “back to basics” after spending time recently managing the creative department.
