Samsung has announced its sponsorship of the 2013 Mayor’s Thames Festival, a 10-day event on the Southbank celebrating the Thames river with walks, talks, performances and artwork.

For the festival, Samsung is providing its Large Format Display screens for use along the river, which will show a film created by Nikolaj Bendix Skyum Larsen. It has also provided screens showing video content from the archives of the London Film Museum and the Museum of London.

The Samsung Discovery Lounge has been devised to allow visitors to experience Samsung’s S9 and OLED TVs. In a Galaxy Studio, Samsung will be showcasing its latest technology, including the Galaxy S4 Collection.

“We are honoured to be partnering with The Mayor’s Thames Festival,” said Andy Griffiths, managing director, Samsung Electronics UK and Ireland. “It marks Samsung’s continuing commitment to elite events and shows how our cutting-edge technology can put people in touch with an important part of London’s great history and culture.”
