Asda drops Saatchi & Saatchi from £100m ad account pitch
Asda, which started an advertising review in June, is understood to have narrowed its pitch down to JWT London and VCCP: meaning that incumbent Saatchi & Saatchi will not win the £100m account. Saatchi & Saatchi has held the account for over a decade, and created last year’s Christmas advert, which led to over 600 complaints to the ASA. The pitch began following the appointment of Chris McDonough as marketing director. The Drum is awaiting a comment from Asda.
