This year’s Social Media Week London event will include a panel of social media chiefs from brands such as Nissan, Mondelez International, Adobe, Nokia and Visa, brought together by The Drum.

As part of The Drum’s media partnership with Social Media Week London, a number of the judges from this year’s Social Buzz Awards have agreed to participate in the panel discussion, which will highlight good and bad use of social media.

The panel will be made up of David Parkinson, general manager of social media and digital engagement for Nissan EMEA and India, Jerry Daykin, EU social media marketing manager at Mondelez International, Nokia’s social media experience manager Ricc Webb, Nick Jones, vice president of corporate communications – digital for Visa Europe and Jeremy Waite, head of social media strategy for Adobe EMEA.

The Social Buzz Awards, in association with iomart Group and sponsored by Meltwater, aim to reward the most effective use of social media marketing, with judging taking place before the Social Media Week London panel session on 25 September.

Having decided this year’s winners, the panel members will convene to discuss social media strategies at The Good, The Bad & The Ugly at Bloomberg in Finsbury Square at 5.30pm.

Each will outline social media campaigns that were inspirational and hit the mark, consider the brands and campaigns that have failed to grab consumers and get them engaged and also look at brands that have come under attack on social media platforms and consider how brands and marketers can fire fight when crisis hits.

The discussion will be hosted by news editor of The Drum, Stephen Lepitak.

Registration for the panel session is free through the Social Media Week London website, while further information on the full judging panel and the Social Buzz Awards can also be found online.

Social Media Week London runs from the 23-27 September and other events and sessions can be found on the event website.
