The brand identity is conveived around the letter ‘D’.

"We're delighted to be appointed, Sydney Design is an important event in the Design calendar,” said Julian Melhuish, creative director at Churchward/Melhuish.

“The Powerhouse have in previous years commissioned some of the best Sydney studios for the event branding, it's flattering for us to be included in their ranks."

Lily Katakouzinos, manager of Sydney Design, Powerhouse Museum said: "The concept embraced both simplicity and complexity at the same time - allowing design to be considered in its many guises.”

She added: “The colours are joyful and set the tone that design can be seen as a positive force, inviting people to engage with a serious theme like 'can design save the world' and problem solving in an optimistic way."
