Alexander Armstrong and Ben Miller are returning to their comedy roles as a pair of wartime RAF pilots, as they front a campaign for Spitfire Ale.

Set to launch on Monday 1 July, the series of ads will be shown on channels such as Sky Sports, Watch and ESPN.

Announcing the launch of the campaign, Graeme Craig, sales and marketing director at the ale brand, said: “Armstrong and Miller’s Spitfire pilots are a match made in heaven. They have this lovely juxtaposition of wartime essence and irrelevant in-jokes that is like pub banter.”

One of the ads has been banned by ClearCast, as it was deemed ‘likely to cause offence’ towards Polish people working in the UK.
