ITV controller of commercial digital products John Block; Shazam Entertainment’s VP advertising sales Miles Lewis and chief envisioning officer at Microsoft UK Dave Coplin will take to the stage to discuss the role of brands and the evolution of the second screen at next week’s much anticipated The Drum Live event in London.

The session, which will be facilitated by COO of Evolve Images Lewis Blackwell, will see Block, Lewis and Coplin discuss how brands should approach second screen technology and the role they play in its evolution.

ITV’s controller of commercial digital products Block will bring his background in coding and technology and current career working in multi-platform strategy and development, driving commercial innovation to the debate. His role at ITV covers everything from creating new interactive ad formats and dual-screen concepts, he often speaks publicly about the exciting opportunities emerging from the convergence of TV and online.

Shazam Entertainment’s VP advertising sales Lewis is also well versed in discussing the role of brands and second screen having worked with Shazam since February 2012. Lewis has spent 12 years at the forefront of this unprecedented digital shift and prior to joining Shazam has held roles with last.fm, Yahoo and AOL.

As chief envisioning officer at Microsoft UK, Coplin is passionate about turning the base metal of technology into valuable assets that affect the way we love, learn, work and play and in doing so, move the focus from technology itself to the actual outcome. As an established thought leader in the UK Coplin will contribute his views on making technology less ‘visible’ and more valuable in our daily lives.

With the discussion facilitated by The Drum columnist Blackwell the debate is sure to be lively and offer insights for both brands and marketers about their role in the world of the second screen.

Other industry names taking part in the event covering the themes of retail, travel and leisure include head of social media at Asda Dom Burch; Adam Steward marketing director at Play.com; founder of Myshowcase.com Nancy Cruikshank; Diesel’s head of retail Pablo Sueiras; communications director at The o2 AEG Jeremy King and Gordon Arthur, chief communications officer for the Commonwealth Games 2014.
