Infographic: Silver Linings Playbook would win Oscar for Best Film if voted for by Twitter and Facebook users
The winners of this year’s Oscars, if predicted through social media, has been outlined by RadiumOne.
The winners, which would see Silver Linings Playbook win Best Picture, Jennifer Lawrence from the same film win Best Actress and Hugh Jackman from Les Misérables win Best Actor, were predicted through measured sharing activity around the nominees.
However, Breaking Dawn Part 2, which is up for several Razzie Awards but no Academy Awards, was found to have 10 times the social activity as its nearest rival, with around 38 million Facebook likes and 1,286,488 Twitter followers. In comparison, The Hunger Games, again featuring Jennifer Lawrence, had 8.5 million Facebook likes.
Radium One also examined conversations about the top four box office hits of 2012, with the final installment of Christopher Nolan’s Batman Trilogy – The Dark Knight – acquiring over half (55 per cent) of conversations.
The winners of this year’s Academy Awards will be announced in Los Angeles on Sunday night.
