With The X Factor drawing to a close this weekend in a glittering finale at Manchester Central, global Software as a Service (SaaS) company Meltwater has tracked social media activity surrounding the finalists, revealing The Drum favourite, James Arthur, is a shoe-in to win the competition.
Meltwater has spent the last week tracking mentions and sentiment for finalists, James Arthur, Christopher Maloney and Jahmene Douglas, on social media in a bid to find out if social media can predict the talent shows outcome.
The findings show controversial finalist Christopher Maloney is receiving the most negative feedback on social media, proving that those who are voting for Christopher are clearly not using social media.
Of the three finalists, James is receiving the most mentions on social media taking over half (56 per cent) of all X Factor related comments. Sentiment for James is also higher than both Christopher and Jahmene.
