The Scottish Conservative party looks to The Fraser Agency and Algiz Design for new identity and pre-referendum campaign
The Scottish Conservatives have appointed The Fraser Agency and Algiz Design, Web and Innovation to work as a joint venture ahead of a forthcoming referendum campaign for next year.
The two have recently worked together on the launch of the party's new logo, which was released late last month.
The referendum is the first of many political events in which the new branding will be used. It will be used by the Scottish conservatives for the general election in 2015 and the Scottish elections in 2016.
The account was previously held by London Company Perfect Day, however was given to the two Scottish agencies in August of this year.
Alan Fraser, MD of The Fraser Agency, commented: "It's great to be working with the party and using my previous experience to the full and we look forward to the challenge of the forthcoming referendum and subsequent general and Scottish election campaigns - it will be very satisfying to see our work used on such major political platforms.
"It's a major coup for a Glasgow based agency to win in what is normally the domain of London agencies. As far as I know hasn't happened in last 15 years."
Debra Murphy, managing director of Algiz Design, said: "We are very proud to have had the opportunity to create what will become an iconic Scottish political brand. It's great news for us and also for design in Scotland."
The Fraser Agency were given the brief from the party to create an iconic brand for the Scottish party, which is still in tone with the union. The new brand needed to appeal to the existing market, as well as the younger market the party are trying to reach out to. Fraser and his team worked with the Algiz Design, Web and Innovation to meet the requests. The red colouring connects the new logo to the union, and the design keeps it modern and fresh.
The new brand was a joint venture between the Fraser Agency and Algiz Design, Web & Innovation. It was designed and developed by Iain Lindsay, the Creative Director of Algiz.
