The Huffington Post has named Jimmy Maymann, head of international operations at AOL as its CEO.

Maymann, founder of Goviral, which was acquired by AOL last year, will report to Arianna Huffington, president and editor-in-chief of the Huffington Post, will be tasked with the growth of its online properties, including growing video content and HuffPost Live.

Said Huffington: “Jimmy has been an indispensable partner to me over the past year-and-a-half as we have launched HuffPost around the world. He brings a vibrant entrepreneurial spirit and an ability to scale a business, so he was the first person I turned to to be our CEO.”
