The Recommended Agency Register (RAR) Top 100 list for 2012 has been announced, with WRG Creative Communications coming out top of the pile.

WRG, the agency which specialises in through-the-line marketing and events, has topped this year’s list, compiled by the RAR, with independent digital agency TH_NK coming in second.

Reporting an annual turnover of £65,000,000, up by 45.4 per cent from £44,700,000 last year, WRG also saw a profit growth of £5,700,000.

Steve Antoniewicz, managing director of the RAR, explained: “This year has seen WRG expand internationally out of its head office in Manchester, with wholly owned offices opening in Abu Dhabi, Doha and those Middle Eastern territories have worked out very well for them. It’s been great to see a non-traditional agency topping the rankings. The company has a focus on events, which has brought the company success in those other locations.

Antoniewicz continued: “The agency has also been very strong in the pharmaceutical marketing sector, which has supported them, while the company’s delivery of two major projects for London 2012 has also boosted their standing.”

Second on the list, TH_NK saw turnover growth of 144 per cent, rising from £5,201,000 in 2011 to £12,735,700, with gross profit growth worth £4,736,500.
