Phones 4u is to launch a £3million Christmas campaign to raise awareness of its pay as you go handsets and gifting propositions in the run up to Christmas.

The creative, developed by creative communications agency adam&eveddb, retains the same feel of the brands recently successful ‘upgrades 4u and u and u’ campaign and will be supported by additional social media activity across Phones 4u’s Facebook and Twitter pages.

Set to launch on TV during the ad break of ITV2’s ‘Take Me Out: The Gossip’ on Saturday 3 November, the ‘Christmas gifts4u and u and u’ campaign features the voice of Alex MacQueen (The Inbetweeners, The Thick of It).

Phones 4u has also invested in a six figure social media campaign based around a dedicated Facebook competition that will run from the middle of November. The Christmas-themed competition will give Phones 4u fans the chance to win hundreds of prizes by pulling virtual crackers with their Facebook friends.

Prizes range from Christmas jokes and bespoke ringtones to phone accessories and smartphones. The competition will also be available as a free-to-download smartphone app and will be supported by Twitter and Facebook advertising.

Head of brand communications at Phones 4u, Caspar Nelson, commented: “We’re really excited to be getting into the festive spirit by launching our first Christmas-themed TV adverts.

“The ads are designed to promote our extensive range of mobile phones and gifting propositions as we enter the Christmas period, when we know people are in search of the perfect gifts for their family and friends, which we have at Phones 4u.”
