Sportswear brand Nike has teamed up with digital giant Microsoft to launch Nike + Kinect Training in the UK; a technology which claims to offer the same training techniques as those provided to elite athletes such as Rafael Nadal.

The tie-up enables budding athletes to set goals, create programs, measure progress and track movements via Xbox Kinect, enabling work out feedback to be delivered in real time.

Co-developed by AKQA, who helped develop the user experience, game design, product development and marketing communications, the system tracks movement, assesses fitness & athleticism and identifies areas of improvement.

The technology also allows users to work out with friends over Xbox Live and tap into the Nike+ community.
