Amazon has leapt on the release of Apple’s iPad Mini by featuring a prominent ad for the gadget on its homepage, albeit in the form of a sly job.

Ranking the vital statistics of both devices in tandem the online retailer is seeking to show underpowered the device is in relation to their own Kindle Fire HD offering, describing their baby as ‘Much More for Much less.’

Quoting a critical review from Gizmodo, which complained: “your [Apple's] 7.9-inch tablet has far fewer pixels than the competing 7-inch tablets! You’re cramming a worse screen in there, charging more, and accusing others of compromise? Ballsy.”

It then went on to list a series of areas where their device claiming that their HD display, stereo speakers and $199 price point are superior to the Apple’s standard definition, mono speakers and $329.

It then goes on to offer a ‘shop now’ option for the Kindle… with no such option for the iPad.
