Trinity Mirror has today unveiled its new-look website for the Birmingham Mail.

The site has been relaunched on a new content management system and has been redesigned by Trinity Mirror's regional senior web designer, Chris Lam, following a consultation with users.

New features include built-in live blog technology, better presentation of picture galleries and video and a hyperlocal section called In Your Area. A mobile site is also available.

The move to the escenic content management system follows a redesign of Trinity Mirror’s regional sites earlier this year.

During audience research, it emerged that readers did not realise how often the sites were being updated and were unaware of all the content that was available.

David Higgerson, digital publishing director for Trinity Mirror's regional websites, said: "The new technology allows us to focus on getting news and information to users fast, using a wide range of tools to create strong, multimedia stories."
