Pudsey the Bear, the Children in Need mascot, has been given a celebrity makeover as part of a bid to raise cash for the children’s charity.

Fashion icons including Burberry, Alexander McQueen, Prada, Louis Vuitton and Victoria Beckham have been roped in to giving the stuffed toy a glamorous makeover, all of which will be auctioned off at Christie’s.

Brainchild of Love Magazine editor Katie Grand the Designer Pudsey 2012 collection has seen the familiar red and yellow demeanour of the doll updated with a range of designer fabrics and even Swarovski crystals.

Each version bears its own distinctive style from from Gucci’s equestrian Pudsey to Burberry’s English gentleman Pudsey.

Grand said: “I was honoured to curate this fantastic collection, and have had such fun working with the designers on all of their amazing designs, BBC Children in Need is an incredibly worthwhile cause, and one which myself and all of the designers involved in the collection are privileged to support."
