As the US presidential race heats up, Zappar has launched its new election-themed augmented reality hats – Zaphats.

Users of the Zappar mobile app have been allowed to show their support for either President Barack Obama or Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney through a three-dimensional mask of either candidate which appears when the user is wearing a hat.

Hats can be bought via VisualiTee.com and the Zappar app can be downloaded for free.

Kirk Ewing, creative director and founder at Zappar, said: “At Zappar, we’re always looking for new ways to make life more fun through the use of augmented reality.

“These election-themed Zaphats certainly deliver on that and should make debating with your friends and family even more entertaining than the actual debates have been already!”
