Goals Soccer Centres has announced that it has teamed up with men’s health charity initiative Movember; with plans to host 5-a-side football tournaments throughout the month of November.

The aim of the Movember campaign is to raise money and awareness for prostate and testicular cancer.

Michael Gibb, national marketing manager for Goals, said: “We are delighted to be the official partners of Movember 2012. It is a fantastic initiative that has done wonders to raise money and awareness for men’s health issues in recent years. It is a fun campaign but with a serious message, and we hope our involvement will be an extension of that; the tournaments will be great fun, but we will be raising plenty of money and awareness too.”

Goals will charge £40.00 to enter per team; and estimates that the tournaments at its 43 centres will raise in excess of £10,000 for the charity.

JC, Movember co-founder, said: “Some amazingly passionate Mo Bros in Sunderland ran their own Goals tournament last Mo season and it went off so well we have decided to roll this out across our UK community to enjoy and compete. So whether you are rocking out an Ian Rush or a Graeme Souness on the five-a-side pitch, have fun and enjoy the ride. We at Movember salute you and your Mo's.”

Every player that registers will receive a Mens Grooming Kit courtesy of Gillette and the winning team at each tournament will be rewarded with a Movember trophy at the end of the day.
