Spirits brand Drambuie has unveiled its new ad, The Extraordinary Bar, which is set to be unveiled on TV and in cinemas in Scotland and Greece this month, before rolling out to other international markets in 2013.
Forming part of the wider A Taste of the Extraordinary campaign, the ad written by Drambuie’s creative agency Sell! Sell! Shows a bartender inviting the viewers to taste the drink, before the scene turns to a strange landscape; ending with three men chanting the three different syllables of the brand’s name rhythmically while in a rowing boat.
Tim Dewey, global marketing director, said: “A Taste of the Extraordinary has taken Drambuie in a bold new direction to attract a new generation of drinkers.
“We wanted to create something thatcaptivates our audience and is as distinctive as the brand itself – The Extraordinary Bar does this by depicting an extraordinary, rich and abstract world. It is a visual metaphor of the depth and complexity of Drambuie.”

Oh dear. There seems to be a bit of a David Lynch revival going on. H&M were at it the other day too. For Surrealism that works, check out the B&H cinema ad CDP did in the 70s, the Golden Age of Advertising. This is one Drambuie ad that'll be lucky to break 500 views online.

Done over 12,00 on youtube - let's not keep looking backwards to the so called golden days and being pessimistic about the future.
