James Murdoch lined up to run News Corp's TV businesses
Despite being criticised by Ofcom yesterday, it has been rumoured that James Murdoch is being set to run Fox Networks Group, News Corp's TV businesses.
According to the Financial Times, the role had been formalised but not yet announced by Rupert Murdoch, despite his son pushing for the announcement to be made in July.
It has been said that James Murdoch’s title and responsibilities are currently unclear, but it has been suggested that he will not be moving to LA to handle the role, which will see Peter Rice, the LA-based head of News Corp’s Fox Networks Group – which includes the national Fox network, as well as cable channels such as FX and National Geographic – report to him.
