Apple could find itself on the wrong side of a trademark dispute with the litigious tech giant faced accusations that it has itself ripped off the designs of others.

In this case attention is focusing on the clock design contained within its IOS 6 iPad operating system, a design which bears uncanny similarities to a trademarked Swiss design.

The trademark is owned by the Swiss Federal Railway Service which has reportedly expressed umbrage at the alleged pilfering in the Swiss press.

Drawn up in 1944 the iconic design has been keeping time on the railway network ever since and has also been licensed for use by Swiss watch manufacturer Mondaine.

Apple recently won a $1bn lawsuit against arch-rival Samsung for apeing some of its copyrighted features.
