The Gate Films has added award-winning Chris Balmond to its roster of directors.

Balmond has been directing for five years alongside a creative position at Red Bee Media. Before that he worked in TV production at ad agencies Euro RSCG London, Chi and Partners and AMV BBDO.

He will still be represented by Red Bee Media in London while The Gate Films will be representing him in the regions.

His achievements include a Gold BTAA for PG Tips 'Queen's Speech' (above), 10 Gold Promax awards including best director 2010 and 2011 and a D&AD in book for copywriting.

Balmond is the third arrival on the Gate's directors roster in the last 12 months following Richard Oliver and Julius Berg.

"It's a strong roster but one both I and the owners felt my brand of comedy added a new dimension to," Balmond said.
